The Flash is a Game Boy title inspired by the 1990 TV show of the same name. Developed by THQ, it was launched in the United States in 1991. The cover of the game box showcases John Wesley Shipp as The Flash, a hero who can move "faster than a speeding bullet." In his everyday life, he works as Barry Allen, a forensic scientist at the Crime Lab.
The game begins with an introductory conversation between The Flash and Dr. Tina McGee, a genetic expert who examined and worked with him at Star Labs in the TV series. In the level that follows immediately after, players must maneuver through a 2D platform environment, gathering Snacks and defusing bombs along the way.
