The Hunt for Red October

Summary

The NES version features an exclusive level where the final stage shifts to platform-style gameplay. As Ramius, the player must locate and disarm bombs planted in the Red October's weapons bay by crew members loyal to the Soviet Union.

Storyline

Inspired by the film of the same title, the Soviet Union has been secretly constructing a nuclear-capable Typhoon-class submarine known as the Red October. During its test mission, Captain Marko Ramius, along with his crew, takes control of the vessel and intends to defect to the United States. Naturally, the U.S. cannot allow such a powerful weapon to reach American shores, prompting Soviet authorities to order the Red October's destruction.
