Sims venture out for an evening of fun in this social-focused expansion for the popular sequel, *The Sims 2*, introducing a wide array of new items, interactions, and gameplay elements. With *Nightlife*, *The Sims 2* characters can enjoy romantic dates in a brand-new downtown district packed with eateries and nightclubs that players can customize or completely redesign. The success of each date is monitored in real time, and when two Sims connect, they unlock new social options that help them deepen their romantic bond. Many of the expansion’s new items, like the dining booth and the bowling alley, offer ways for Sims to strengthen their relationships while having a great time and fulfilling other needs. *Nightlife* also enhances *The Sims 2* experience through a variety of new features and options not seen in any previous *Sims* game or expansion. In addition to dating, Sims can join together for "Group Outings," letting them enjoy the downtown vibe without the pressure of romance. The expansion introduces a new life aspiration called Pleasure, which lets characters focus on the pursuit of happiness, receiving unique wants and fears based on their hedonistic values. A significant new feature in *Nightlife* is the ability to own and drive cars. If they can afford it, Sims can now purchase their own vehicles—no more waiting for a carpool or taxi to take them where they need to go. Additional new items include a poker table, a DJ stand, and a range of new lighting options. As always, most of these items can be placed in Sims’ homes or dorm rooms, as well as in the new public downtown spaces.
