Storyline

The Sims 2: University introduces a new "Young Adult" stage for Sims characters and a brand-new "College Town" setting designed to reflect the hopes, dreams, and anxieties of university life. Once Sims finish their teenage years, they can choose to leave home and move into a dorm at the university. To help ease this thrilling yet sometimes difficult shift, first-year students must live in the dorms, but those who succeed can eventually move into off-campus housing. The dorms are a great place to experience campus life and connect with others, so young adult Sims should make the most of their time there. Dorm rooms are compact and uniform, but the dorm buildings themselves are large and lively, filled with a variety of NPC characters. This gives the player's academic Sim plenty of chances to form relationships—whether with friends, study partners, rivals, or romantic interests. After getting to know others and becoming familiar with the campus, students might want to move into their own place or share a house with other students. To afford this, they'll need to earn extra money through part-time jobs or maybe even hustle at the local hangout by playing pool. For many Sims 2 players, college is a time of personal development and intellectual growth, and this expansion pack captures the social side of university life as well. Sorority and fraternity houses are perfect for throwing wild parties and letting loose, especially when outfitted with the right party-themed items. Sims can take turns doing inverted chug-a-lugs from the "Juice Barrel" or unwind together using the "Bubble Blower." There are plenty of ways to relax and have fun, like pillow fights, toga parties, musical jam sessions, foot-bag circles, and even streaking runs. Just like in real life, a balance of work and play in college can lead to new perspectives and opportunities.
