The Sims is a life-simulation game that focuses on the intricate details of individual characters rather than the development of an entire society or civilization. You have control over nearly every aspect of the lives of the characters in your selected neighborhood. Each character is built from scratch, and you shape their personalities, appearances, desires, moods, impulses, living situations, careers, personal decisions, lifestyles, and responses. The Sims: Complete Collection includes the original The Sims game and all seven of its expansion packs (Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar, and Makin' Magic).
In *The Sims*, management centers on making key decisions that shape your Sims' lives. From arranging the physical layout of their surroundings to influencing their moods, emotions, and abilities, you'll be deeply involved in every aspect of their day-to-day existence. Activities include purchasing and placing distinctive furniture and decorations for homes and workplaces, replacing damaged or worn-out items, and continuously building and maintaining the environment your Sims inhabit. You'll steer your Sims through various stages of personal growth, and the relationships between them are shaped by your choices. These interactions are expressed through conversations and social exchanges with other Sims, determining the depth and nature of their connections. *The Sims* offers ten distinct career paths for your working Sims to pursue, with each advancement requiring specific skills to succeed. Each career has ten levels of progression, allowing your Sims to climb the ranks and advance in their chosen fields. Your Sims may face challenges such as floods, fires, and break-ins. Issues like neglect, hunger, energy depletion, and even forgetting to use the bathroom can impact their well-being and halt their progress. Death is a possible outcome, and entire families may perish due to extreme neglect or starvation.
