Summary

The Sims: Superstar is the sixth expansion for The Sims, enabling players to lead their Sims toward stardom. For the first time, players can accompany their Sims to work as they chase careers as Rock Stars, Movie Stars, or Supermodels in the new, customizable Studio Town. A variety of new work and leisure items are added, and in addition to relationship and skill ratings, players can now monitor their characters' fame score.

Storyline

Studio Town is packed with movie sets, recording studios, and fashion venues, along with helpful agents eager to guide Sims toward fame—for a modest, industry-standard cut, of course. In showbiz, it's often not what you know, but who you know, making time spent networking with industry pros and aspiring stars in Studio Town a smart investment. Sims now have a five-star rating that fills gradually, one half-star at a time, as they earn public attention and popularity. Studio Town is where celebrities are spotted, and Sims can boost their star status by maintaining great routines there. Whether performing on stage or in the studio, the key is delivering the kind of performance the NPC directors are looking for. Players have full control over their characters' routines, such as selecting the music genre for a studio recording or choosing the vocal style for each section of a song. Success in the entertainment world opens doors to wealth, fame, and friends—along with adoring fans, relentless photographers, and maybe even a few obsessed admirers. For Sims who prefer to enjoy the celebrity lifestyle without the spotlight, The Sims: Superstar introduces dozens of new items that can be bought and placed in any home that can afford them. Imagine a cutting-edge satellite dish that brings in premium TV channels, or a fully functional skydiving simulator? New luxurious furniture and art options are also available, allowing pampered Sims to show off to any guests who drop by. A new household staff is also on offer to handle everyday tasks, so talented (or simply wealthy) Sims can pursue more important endeavors.
