Summary
Inspired by the novels of renowned Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is an action-packed, grand fantasy RPG that immerses players in a world strikingly similar to our own. Step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a seasoned monster hunter, as he navigates a path of personal discovery and vengeance. The game’s delayed decision-making system means the effects of your choices will only reveal themselves later in Geralt’s journey, making it less likely you’ll want to revisit an earlier save. The Enhanced Edition features technical and gameplay enhancements that offer quicker load times, smoother animations, and a more refined inventory system, among other upgrades. Two brand-new quests, The Price of Neutrality and Side Effects, add fresh content to extend the game's replay value. Lastly, the "D'jinni Adventure Editor" allows players to craft their own adventures and share them with the community.
Storyline
After the events of The Witcher novels, Geralt of Rivia, a seasoned monster hunter, finds himself at the base of the legendary witcher stronghold, pursued by an enigmatic force. Weary and plagued by memory loss, he is cared for by his fellow witchers and a well-known sorceress. But before he can reclaim the fragments of his past, the fortress is overrun by marauding bandits under the command of a shadowy mage, who manages to plunder the closely protected secrets of the witcher order and inflict a fatal wound on one of its own. The surviving witchers set out on a mission to recover their stolen knowledge and seek vengeance, scattering across the world. Geralt of Rivia heads south, toward the kingdom of Temeria...
