The game features the FedExCup championship structure, a series of tournaments, with rounds played at Westchester Country Club, TPC Boston, Cog Hill, and East Lake. The putting preview has been enhanced, letting players simulate the ball's trajectory from each individual spot, factoring in elements like power, speed, and elevation. On the Xbox 360 and PS3, shots are executed using a 3-point timed system for initiation, power, and precision, rather than the analog stick. A new feature, Shot Confidence, tracks the player's performance on specific courses, for certain putts, and with particular clubs. Strong performances boost confidence, leading to increased experience and improved results on those courses. Low confidence results in reduced accuracy, an elevated heartbeat, and vibrating controls on the Wii. On the Wii, players can shake the controller to perform one of four taunt moves to distract opponents. This can affect wind conditions, spin, or introduce audio interruptions. The game offers three control modes: Full Swing (using the Wii Remote), Sitting Swing (a new waggle-based method with the Wii Remote), or the traditional nunchuck-based analog controls. In Full Swing mode, twisting the Wii Remote introduces hooks and slices before a shot. The Wii also features an exclusive Miniputt mode.
