TMNT is a single-player action-adventure game available on multiple platforms, featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is based on the 2007 movie of the same name and was launched three days prior to the film’s debut for the Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo GameCube consoles, as well as for PC on March 20, 2007. The game closely mirrors the storyline of the 2007 TMNT film, with only minor deviations. The original Xbox and PlayStation 3 editions of the game were ultimately canceled.
The story of the game is rooted in the 2007 TMNT movie, but it's presented as a flashback narrated by the Turtles and Splinter. After vanquishing their former main enemy, Shredder, the Turtles begin to drift apart. Leonardo leaves for Central America to sharpen his martial arts skills and strengthen his leadership qualities. There, he also discovers a strange medallion. With Leonardo away, the other three Turtles take different paths. Raphael transforms into a lone vigilante called the Nightwatcher, Michelangelo becomes a kids' party entertainer (or more accurately, a target for punches), and Donatello lands a job as a tech support operator. When Leonardo returns from his journey, tensions quickly arise, especially with Raphael. As Leonardo and Master Splinter work to mend their fractured family ties, strange Foot Clan movements and monster appearances create new obstacles.
