Summary

Compete against the pack to climb the leaderboard while maintaining control of your vehicle as you speed through nine unique tracks from the British Touring Car Championships. The game includes eight distinct modes, such as single race, championship, time trial, and party multiplayer. Better known as TOCA Touring Car Championship, the first title in the series launched on PC and PlayStation in late 1997 in Europe, and in summer 1998 in the U.S. It showcased all the officially licensed cars (excluding private entries) and circuits from the 1997 BTCC season. The game received widespread praise from European gaming critics—especially on console, where it was hailed as the genre’s best until Gran Turismo arrived a few months later.
