Summary

TOCA Race Driver 3 (also referred to as DTM Race Driver 3 in Germany and V8 Supercars 3 in Australia) is the third installment in the TOCA racing video game series, created and released by Codemasters. The game launched in Europe and North America on February 24, 2006. It showcases multiple officially licensed racing series, such as the DTM and V8 Supercar Championship. The game offers 120 Championships and 35 different racing disciplines across World Tour, Pro Career, and Free Race modes. Additional Bonus Championships are also available. Most of the action takes place in the UK and Germany, with more tracks becoming accessible by winning cups in Pro Career or setting new lap records in that mode. The game includes a variety of racing styles such as open-wheel, GT, oval, rallying, and off-road, all playable in either the in-depth Pro Career or the more flexible World Tour. Online multiplayer supports up to 12 players on Xbox and 8 on PlayStation 2. It remains the only PlayStation 2 racing simulator to feature online racing. The game was well-received, often praised for its on-track performance, vehicle damage, and AI, and frequently compared favorably to Gran Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsport.
