Summary

You're a young man beginning a three-year journey at Kirameki High School in Japan. Your mission is to win the hearts of one—or perhaps more—of the twelve stunning girls who are your classmates, with a special focus on Shiori, who you've loved for years. This is a simulation game featuring an advanced stats system. You must boost your skills in various areas depending on which girl you're pursuing. Communication happens through your phone, and you build relationships by taking the girls to different locations. Be sure to keep your promises, or you risk making a girl angry, which could lead her to spread negative rumors about you to others, damaging your reputation.

Storyline

The game opens with the protagonist, whose name is chosen by the player, starting at Kirameki Private High School in hopes of rekindling a connection with his childhood crush, Shiori Fujisaki. On his first day, he meets Yoshio Saotome, who quickly becomes his closest friend, as well as Rei Ijuin, the school's most popular student. Rei is the arrogant grandson of Kirameki's chairman, adored by the girls and resented by the boys. Not long after, the protagonist discovers the school's famous legend: any couple tied together under the Legendary Tree on graduation day is said to be granted eternal happiness.
