The Wii version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary retains the levels and core gameplay from other editions while adding motion controls. Exclusive to the Wii, first-person puzzles involve breaking walls with a pickaxe, using a flashlight in dark settings, constructing mechanisms from scattered parts, solving symbol-based locks, and using paper and charcoal to make rubbings of puzzle symbols—all controlled with the Wii Remote.
Lara Croft is hired by a mysterious woman named Natla to locate the Scion, a powerful and legendary artifact believed to have originated from the lost continent of Atlantis. Lara is convinced that the Scion holds ancient knowledge that could uncover the truth behind her mother's disappearance.
