The Gold Edition of Tomb Raider introduces two additional chapters to the original game. The first takes place in Egypt, set several months after the events of Tomb Raider. Lara returns to the city of Khamoon to explore a secret temple honoring the feline goddess Bast. The second chapter serves as a prelude to the first, picking up right where the original game left off, with Lara descending the slope from the final level to confront what remains of the Atlantean civilization.
Shadow of the Cat: Following recent flooding in Khamoon, Lara revisits the local tomb to conduct further research on the enigmatic cat statue. Upon her return, she finds the main chamber entirely submerged, granting access to new areas and expanding the possibilities for exploration. Lara delves into these newly revealed parts of the city and ultimately discovers a temple devoted to the cat goddess Bast, home to an enormous golden feline statue. Unfinished Business: Having completed her mission, Lara returns to the ruins of Atlantis. Her objective is to eliminate the remaining forces of the Atlantean army and dismantle a heavily guarded mutant breeding facility, ensuring they can never pose a threat to humanity again. After achieving her goal, she escapes Atlantis via an underwater passage. She has not set foot in Atlantis since.
