The GBA edition of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend is a side-scrolling platformer that aligns more closely with the DS version than the 3D console iterations developed by another studio. In contrast to the earlier GBA title in the series, it features a side-on perspective rather than the more angled, top-down camera view. Lara can jump, fire her weapons, swing to new platforms, dodge obstacles, and eliminate both enemies and animals blocking her path. Accurate timing and control are crucial for reaching higher platforms, reminiscent of the classic Prince of Persia titles. Players collect new weapons when enemies are defeated, though this doesn’t alter the visual appearance of Lara’s current weapon. The game also includes several vehicle segments where Lara rides a motorcycle.
The story follows the console editions closely. In her quest for the relic, Lara Croft journeys through Japan, Bolivia, England, Kazakhstan, Ghana, and the Himalayas.
