Tomb Raider: The Prophecy is the first title in the series for the Game Boy Advance. Lara explores a near-3D top-down environment, a shift from the 2D side-scrolling perspective of earlier handheld games. This new viewpoint enhances gameplay as Lara runs, jumps, climbs, and fires her weapons. While the game lacks a save function, it includes a password system that allows you to return to nearly the exact point where you left off.
Lara Croft uncovers a manuscript detailing a cryptic form of occult magic that could unleash destruction upon the Earth in the near future. The prophecy also references three legendary stones connected to the impending catastrophe. Intrigued, Lara embarks on a worldwide journey to locate these fabled artifacts. Throughout her quest, she will face adversaries of both human and supernatural origin, as well as confront the forces of dark magic.
