Summary
Tonic Trouble is a 3D platformer developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The plot centers on Ed, the protagonist, who faces off against killer vegetables after a magical potion is spilled on Earth. The game was met with negative reviews, with critics pointing out clunky controls, excessive dialogue, and subpar visuals—especially in the N64 version. The N64 edition is a port of the PC version and features significant changes, including a different opening sequence due to the console's limited ability to handle cutscenes, as well as altered music in various sections. It is frequently compared to another Ubisoft title, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, as both are 3D platformers with similarly styled main characters (limbs only on the lower body) and were released during the same period.
