Summary

This tale follows a young boy named Tohno Shiki, who, after surviving a devastating accident, awakens in the hospital with the strange power to see lines and fissures in every object and person around him. These lines can be permanently severed if traced with any sharp or blunt object. Struggling to cope with this overwhelming ability, Shiki is deeply troubled until he encounters a magical girl who gives him special glasses that let him see the world normally again. Years pass, and after living with a relative, Shiki is called back to his childhood mansion following his father's death. There, he must adjust to life with his younger sister and two devoted maids. One day, Shiki's life takes a dark turn when, on his way to school, he crosses paths with a blonde woman and is suddenly gripped by an intense desire to kill her.
