Twisted Metal: Black was set to be followed by a sequel called Twisted Metal: Black - Harbor City, although it was never officially confirmed and the project was eventually canceled. Information about the game surfaced in the PlayStation 2 version of Twisted Metal: Head-On, titled Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. Initially, the plan was for the Harbor City levels to be significantly expanded and more interconnected, creating a more cohesive, unified world instead of isolated stages. Four finished levels were later added to the game as a bonus feature called Twisted Metal: Lost.
