Ultima: The Savage Empire (Ultima: Kyouryuu Teikoku) is a version of Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire adapted for the SNES and published in 1995 by ORIGIN Systems (and Pony Canyon). The game marks a significant shift from the traditional style of the Ultima series, taking place in a setting that evokes the Amazon rather than the medieval environments seen in earlier entries. Its engine was derived from that of Ultima VII: The Black Gate. The game was intended for a Western launch, but the plans were ultimately scrapped.
