Summary

A platformer starring Ultimate Spider-Man set within the Ultimate Marvel Universe (Earth-1610).

Storyline

At the beginning of the game, Spider-Man encounters a group of criminals harassing a woman. He intervenes and defeats them, only for the woman he rescued to call him a monster and flee. Spider-Man then pursues the Sandman through New York City. They battle, and the Sandman is bested, just as Rhino hurls a car at Spider-Man, who dodges it. Rhino escapes, and the Triskelion is shown engulfed in flames. It is later uncovered that the fire was the result of an explosion that freed all the super-villains from the prison, along with symbiotes born from a blend of the Venom suit and the OZ formula. Throughout the game, Spider-Man must battle various villains featured in the *Ultimate Spider-Man* comics, including Electro, Green Goblin, and Rhino. He also faces off against their followers, such as symbiotes, henchmen, and goblins. After defeating Electro, the police speak with Spider-Man, warning that if he continues to interfere, they will deploy Roxxon security robots to apprehend him, as they believe the situation is under control. After battling Venom twice and fending off a symbiote army, Spider-Man is informed by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents that Norman Osborne (Green Goblin) has kidnapped several baseball players and the mayor, threatening to turn them into goblins unless the city is handed over to him. Spider-Man takes on Doctor Octopus and then travels to the stadium, where he confronts Green Goblin, who manages to escape. After a chase through Manhattan, Spider-Man locates and defeats Norman. Once Green Goblin is captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who express their gratitude, they inform Spider-Man that Dr. Connors (Lizard) has been working on an antidote for the remaining symbiotes in the city. At the end of the game, Spider-Man is seated on a bench when the woman from the beginning of the game approaches him and tells him he isn't a freak after all, before taking a photo of them with her phone. Spider-Man asks her not to post the picture online, and then he leaves.
