Summary
VR Baseball 99 includes all 30 Major League Baseball teams and their stadiums, each featuring the 1998 Opening Day lineups. Available game modes are exhibition, season, and home run derby. Customization options include three difficulty levels, pitch speed, arcade or simulation hitting styles, fielding help, number of innings, DH rule, errors, injuries, and game time settings (day, night, dusk, overcast, or random). Season mode offers a wide range of options and stats, such as All-Star voting. Keeping a pitcher in too long, running into a wall or another player, or making a poor slide can result in injuries. When injuries happen, players are marked as day-to-day or placed on the disabled list.
