Summary
VR Soccer, also known as VR Soccer '96, or Actua Soccer in Japan and Europe, is a sports video game developed and published by Gremlin Interactive for MS-DOS, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.
It was the first sports game to feature a complete 3D graphics engine. For the player animations, three members of the Sheffield Wednesday football club provided motion capture performances.
Actua Soccer originally included 44 national teams, each with 22 players. In 1996, a new version featuring clubs was released: Actua Soccer: Club Edition. It featured 20 Premier League teams from the 1996/1997 season and became a top-selling title in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom.
