Summary

Vermintide is a cooperative action first-person shooter and melee combat experience set in the End Times of the legendary Warhammer Fantasy universe. Set in and around Ubersreik, a city consumed by the Skaven, you'll take on the role of one of five distinct heroes, each with unique playstyles, abilities, equipment, and personalities. Team up with others and use each hero's strengths to endure the apocalyptic onslaught of the relentless rat-like Skaven hordes. Fight through a variety of locations, from the heights of the Magnus Tower to the depths of the Under Empire.

Storyline

The days of mortals are drawing to a close, and the dominion of Chaos looms ever nearer. For the first time, the Dark Gods stand united, their madness spreading across the world with terrifying force. In the Empire of Sigmar, Karl Franz watches with concern as the savage northmen press their attack, but this is only one of many dangers. As the Chaos moon Morrslieb reaches its full, eerie whispers rise from the depths of the Empire’s subterranean tunnels, where a Skaven horde is clawing its way toward the surface. The first wave strikes in Ubersreik, a writhing tide of screeching vermin that devours all in its path. Soon, the once-proud city is reduced to a graveyard, swallowed by the sinister shadow of the Horned Rat. Yet even in the deepest darkness, there are those who rise to defy it. As Ubersreik trembles beneath the onslaught, five unlikely heroes—bound by fate’s cruel whims—take up the battle against the rat-legions. Whether they can endure, let alone stand together long enough to turn the tide, remains uncertain. But one truth is absolute: if these five fall, Ubersreik will fall with them.
