Summary
In contrast to the realistic hockey action found in Electronic Arts' NHL series, the game offered a more exaggerated, arcade-style experience. It included flashy moves like "power saves," where the goaltender would momentarily turn into an impenetrable wall, "power shots" that set the net ablaze or sent the goalie tumbling into it, and "power checks" that caused an ambulance to race across the top of the screen. The game was known for its high-scoring matches and wild, over-the-top brawls. For players seeking something more authentic, a simulation mode was available. The game also allowed users to create profiles and track key individual and team statistics, such as goals, assists, and wins, among other metrics.
