Summary

Welcome to GameCube World!! (also known by the informal name Peach's Castle) is a technical demonstration for the Nintendo GameCube. In 2001, Nintendo distributed an interactive Tech Demo to various developers to showcase the graphical power of their new console as part of the Nintendo GameCube Software Development Kit. In this demo, the player controls a red arrow that explores various areas of Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64. Each room displays different graphical effects, including large textures, bumps and shadows, anti-aliasing, localized lighting, projection textures, environment mapping, and maximum polygon counts. The castle is referred to in the demo as Peach Castel (castel is an old French word for castle).
