Summary

Whispers of a Machine is a Sci-Fi Nordic Noir following Vera, a cybernetically enhanced detective in a world after the rise of AI, as she probes a series of killings and uncovers a sinister struggle over outlawed technology.

Storyline

Artificial intelligence had become a part of everyday life. In our vehicles, in our homes. Even woven into the fabric of our clothing. For some, it had become a part of their very being. Fearing the Singularity, humanity suddenly shut down all AI systems, triggering a global technological collapse. Centuries later, Vera, a federal homicide investigator, is dispatched to the remote village of Nordsund to look into a series of killings. She soon discovers she's caught in a hidden conflict between technology and faith. Some seek to awaken the Singularity, viewing it as the final god in a world without divinity. Others are fierce opponents of all things technological.
