Summary

Wolfenstein is a direct follow-up to Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny/Wolfenstein RPG. The game features a "re-imagined" version of B.J. Blazkowicz, now with dark hair and a disguise, keeping the scruffy appearance from Return to Castle Wolfenstein and wearing civilian attire instead of his traditional military gear. The gameplay primarily involves the player battling through waves of various Nazi enemies, from standard soldiers to ninjas. To handle the numerous foes, the player can use a wide range of typical WWII-era weapons, such as the German MP40 or K98 rifle. Throughout the game, B.J. discovers the medallion and unlocks four special abilities. Initially, stepping into the Veil allows him to spot enemies more easily and use bizarre flying creatures as explosive devices, but later he gains the ability to slow time, create a protective barrier, or boost his strength. However, using the medallion's powers depletes its energy, which must be restored at hidden power spots scattered throughout the world.

Storyline

The narrative takes place in the imaginary town of Isenstadt during World War II, where the Nazis have imposed martial law to unearth rare Nachtsonne crystals essential for opening a gateway to the "Black Sun" dimension. B.J. Blazkowicz is dispatched to Isenstadt to locate and recover the Thule Medallion along with four crystals in order to stop the Nazis from harnessing their power.
