Summary
Wolfenstein RPG is a first-person action and role-playing video game created by id Software and Fountainhead Entertainment. It was launched in September 2008 for mobile devices and later in May 2009 for iOS. In 2013, it was taken down from the App Store. The gameplay mirrors that of Doom RPG, presenting a first-person view while functioning as a turn-based role-playing game rather than a traditional shooter, with a strong focus on storytelling. Combat and movement are handled in turns, giving players time to choose their actions during battles. The player rotates in 90-degree increments and moves one space at a time. Each action the player takes allows all other characters in the scene to respond with their own move. The deliberate slow pace of the game encourages exploration, prompting players to search every nook and cranny, read books on shelves, and dismantle furniture to uncover hidden secrets. The levels feature underground tunnels, weapon research labs, and a stage set inside a moving vehicle. The game also offers two mini-games: the card game War and Chicken Kicking, where players earn points by kicking a chicken into a scoring zone.
Storyline
Sergeant William Joseph "B.J." Blazkowicz, accompanied by a squad of OSA Rangers, is sent to Castle Wolfenstein, only to be captured mid-mission by the SS Special Weapons and Paranormal Division. After breaking free, B.J. uncovers extensive Nazi operations involving advanced weapon development, experimental drug production, and sinister rituals. Now, he must fight his way from the Nazi Tower to Castle Wolfenstein to dismantle the SS Special Weapons and Paranormal Division's sinister agenda.
