Summary
Wonder Boy: Monster Land is an action role-playing platformer created by Westone. Sega released it in arcades in 1987 and on the Sega Master System in 1988 as a follow-up to the 1986 title Wonder Boy, set eleven years after the events of its predecessor.
Storyline
The story of *Wonder Boy: Monster Land* continues from where its predecessor, *Wonder Boy*, left off. The main character is a young boy named Bock Lee Temjin, who goes by the nickname Tom-Tom. In *Wonder Boy*, Tom-Tom's girlfriend, Tanya, was captured by the Evil King and taken to his forest kingdom. Tom-Tom journeyed to the kingdom, overcame the Evil King, and rescued Tanya. His heroic deeds spread across Wonder Land, and the people honored him with the title of Wonder Boy. In the meantime, the Evil King was reborn as the MEKA Dragon, who then built a strong army. The MEKA Dragon also placed mind-control bracelets on the creatures of the land, forcing them to obey his commands. He also enlisted the Brothers of Knight (Red and Blue) to carry out his orders. Learning of this, Tom-Tom set out to destroy the MEKA Dragon. The game concludes with Tom-Tom defeating the dragon, setting up a suspenseful ending that hints at the events of the third game.
