Summary

Storyline

Sylvanas Windrunner, the fallen ruler of the Horde, has torn through the barrier separating Azeroth from the afterlife, triggering a chain of events that endangers the delicate balance between life and death. When *World of Warcraft* players step into the legendary Shadowlands, they will discover the domains of the dead in chaos. Traditionally, souls were guided to realms that reflected the lives they lived, but now, all are being drawn into the Maw, a place where the most depraved are condemned to eternal torment. In their quest to restore the natural order and uncover Sylvanas' true intentions, players will form alliances with the Covenants—powerful factions that govern the various regions of the Shadowlands.
