Summary

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, commonly known as WotLK or simply Wrath, is the second expansion pack for the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, succeeding The Burning Crusade. It introduces a wealth of new content to the game, featuring the continent of Northrend—the domain of the Lich King—and a brand-new character "hero" class.

Storyline

For years, the champions of the Alliance and Horde have battled the darkness in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, faced the infernal might of the Burning Legion in Outland, and clashed with one another—never realizing that a greater menace than any they had known was gathering strength on the frozen expanse of Northrend. Now, the Lich King, Arthas Menethil, has risen from Icecrown Citadel to seize the world for himself. Heroes from both factions rally in Northrend to confront this malevolent tyrant who dares to call himself Azeroth’s sole rightful ruler—and who seeks to purge all life from the realm.
