Summary
X-Men: Gamesmaster's Legacy is an action title launched in 1995 for the Game Gear. The game begins with Cyclops and Storm as the initial playable X-Men, while characters like Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Cable can be unlocked later on. It draws inspiration from the "Upstarts" and "X-Cutioner's Song" comic arcs, and serves as a follow-up to the original X-Men Game Gear game.
Storyline
The mutant community is being ravaged by the Legacy Virus, and the key to survival rests in the hands of the Gamesmaster. Offering the X-Men a chance to secure the much-needed cure, he challenges them to participate in a deadly game. At the same time, he presents the same challenge to the X-Men’s age-old enemies, tempting them with the added reward of destroying their rivals. With time running out, the X-Men are forced to split their team in a desperate race to find the cure before it's too late.
