Summary
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is an action role-playing game and the follow-up to X-Men Legends. The player leads a team of four characters, but only one can be controlled at a time. Switching characters is essential not only for combat effectiveness but also to complete certain missions that require the unique powers of specific mutants. For instance, Iceman can extinguish flames, while Magneto can create a metal bridge to cross a chasm. However, the majority of gameplay is focused on combat, gathering loot, and earning experience points. In contrast to the first game, enemy-dropped items are randomized. As characters gain levels, they grow stronger and unlock new abilities. Players have the option to manually distribute all experience and skill points.
