X-Men: The Official Game

Summary

X-Men: The Official Game is based on the plot of the third X-Men movie. In this title, players can take control of characters like Wolverine, Colossus, Iceman, or Nightcrawler as they progress through twenty-five levels in a classic side-scrolling beat-'em-up style. The main goal in each stage is usually to find the exit, which may require scrolling left to right, top to bottom, or maneuvering through maze-like layouts. Players defeat enemies using a variety of punches, with each character offering different reach and damage capabilities. Each hero also has a special move and unique skills—for example, Colossus can break certain objects, and Wolverine heals over time. Starting off as Wolverine, players later unlock the ability to switch between characters at any time. Each X-Man has a power meter that refills by gathering blue icons, allowing them to unleash a temporary damage boost during combat.
