X-Men: The Official Game

Summary

X-Men: The Official Game takes place between the events of the second and third X-Men films. This handheld version is quite different from its PC and console equivalents, as it uses a top-down action game style with 3D characters across forty levels. Players can switch between Wolverine, Iceman, and Magneto in certain stages, while other levels are dedicated solely to controlling Nightcrawler. Movement is handled using the Control Pad, while all character actions are performed via the touch screen. The lower screen displays the action, showing the characters in motion, while the upper screen shows their status information. Nightcrawler can teleport, Wolverine is strong in close-range attacks, Iceman can launch ice-based attacks, and Magneto can control metal objects, including lifting and throwing them. Magneto can also destroy metal doors. Each character’s abilities are effective against different enemies, so switching between them is often necessary to overcome challenges. In addition to regular enemies, many levels also include powerful boss characters.
