Summary

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a role-playing game created and released by Sega. Launching in 2020, it serves as the eighth main installment in the Yakuza franchise. The game centers around a new main character, Ichiban Kasuga, and marks a shift from the series' usual action gameplay to a turn-based combat system involving a team of characters. Taking place in the fictional city of Yokohama, the story follows Kasuga as he seeks vengeance and navigates the dark underbelly of Japan's criminal world.

Storyline

Ichiban Kasuga, a lowly member of a minor yakuza clan in Tokyo, is sentenced to 18 years in prison after taking the blame for a crime he didn’t commit. Holding on to hope, he faithfully serves his sentence, only to return to a world that has moved on without him—his family clan wiped out by the very man he once admired most. Determined to uncover the truth behind his clan’s downfall and reclaim his life, Ichiban gathers an unlikely band of misfits: Adachi, a renegade police officer; Nanba, a homeless former nurse; and Saeko, a hostess with a purpose. Together, they find themselves caught in a growing conflict simmering beneath the streets of Yokohama, where they must rise to become the heroes they never imagined they’d have to be.
