Summary

A thriving town nestled on the edge of the frontier, where the towering trees stretch endlessly toward the horizon. It is here, in this untamed land, that a young man stumbles into unconsciousness, stripped of all memory, with only his name remaining. Without a past to anchor him, Adol Cristin roams the streets of Casnan, seeking answers to the mystery of who he is. Guided by a shady informant who claims to have known him before, the young hero joins forces to save miners trapped in a collapsing mine—an action that draws the eye of a Romun Army general stationed in the town. Impressed by their abilities, the two are recruited to venture into the Great Forest and chart the vast, unexplored regions of Celceta—a mission many have tried and none have survived. Stranded in this unknown and dangerous frontier, Adol must navigate the treacherous expanse of trees while piecing together his lost memories and discerning who among those around him is truly trustworthy—and who might be exploiting his amnesia for their own gain.
