Summary

700 years prior to the events of Ys I & II, the kingdom of Ys stood on the edge of annihilation. Hordes of demons descended, compelling the twin Goddesses who governed the land to spirit their people away from the surface and into the safety of the skies. But the demons were relentless, constructing a colossal tower to follow them. The conflict that had raged on the earth was now set to continue in the heavens. One fateful night, in the midst of the chaos, the Goddesses disappeared without a trace, leaving Ys in disarray. Only one destination made sense: the Devil’s Tower. A desperate expedition of knights and mages was quickly assembled and sent to the surface in search of the missing deities. Among them were the young knight-in-training Yunica Tovah and the tormented sorcerer Hugo Fact. This is their tale. Or at least, the version each of them recalls. Building on the gameplay innovations of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim and refined in Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Ys Origin elevates the experience with fresh mechanics and features unseen in the Ys series before. Storyline

After a catastrophic demonic invasion, the twin Goddesses employ their divine magic to lift the people of the legendary city of Ys to safety among the skies. As the demons toil to build Devil’s Tower and close the gap to the humans’ new sanctuary, the Goddesses vanish. Take up the role of a powerful warrior or a clever mage and venture into Devil’s Tower to find the missing Goddesses. Armed with your combat skills and magical prowess, can you rid the land of your ancestors of its evil scourge?
