Summary
Ys V: Kefin, The Lost City of Sand is the fifth installment in the series. It originally launched on the Super Nintendo in 1995, with a remake arriving on the PlayStation 2 in 2006. Adol journeys through uncharted territories in pursuit of new adventures when he learns of the mysterious desert city of Kefin, which has mysteriously disappeared. Intrigued, he embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind its fate. Ys V continues the RPG-style stats and top-down perspective seen in earlier titles. Like Ys III, it does not feature an auto-attack function, requiring players to manually press a button to strike with Adol's sword. New mechanics include the ability to jump and block using a shield. The game also introduces a fresh magic system, where players must hold a button to charge spells before casting them.
