In 2300, a hundred years after discovering superluminal travel, humanity has colonized the galaxy, encountering multiple sentient species and founding thousands of new worlds living in a decentralized society marked by trade, diplomacy, and wars. During their expansion, humanity encountered a planet without intelligent life but with ancient temples that did not belong to any known advanced civilization. Anomalies in time behavior at these temples defy existing physical laws.
