Released as Redline F-1 Racer in North America and under its original title in Europe and Japan, it is a Formula One simulator for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. From dangerous right turns to fuel management, everything is simulated as the player strives to win the FIA World Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. Players can choose to compete in a single race (a non-championship Formula One event) or a full season mode where the champion takes all and the rest must wait for another year. The game lets players customize their racing car. Adjustments to suspension, wings, and brakes, among other components, can help improve lap times and track positions. Victory is nearly impossible without properly tuning the car from the start of the race week. Even the weather can work against the player—using the wrong tires can cause the car to spin out. The controls and overall gameplay are fairly basic for a driving simulator. Aguri Suzuki is featured in the game as the most skilled driver. The game's visuals resemble those of an 8-bit console.
