All-Star Slammin' D-Ball, the first dodge ball game on PlayStation, presents a side-view court where eight unique teams battle in either Single Match or Tournament mode. Each team is ranked from one to five in key skills like throwing, catching, dashing, and dodging. A variety of quirky male and female characters with differing abilities represent the Wild Cats, Pranksters, Heart Breakers, Ninjas, Snipers, Fireballs, Thunder Bolts, and Elementals. The game sticks to the basic rules of dodge ball, with the goal of eliminating all members of the opposing team within a set time. Players can throw the ball to the right, left, high, or low. If the opposing team catches a thrown ball, they earn points. These points can be used to unlock special throws like the grenade, boomerang, and screwdriver, making it harder for opponents to dodge or catch. Additional options include customizable time limits for Single Matches and three difficulty levels.
