Summary
The fate of the Digital World is in your hands! Digimon World 4 is an action role-playing game inspired by the movie *Digital Monster X-Evolution*, which was released exclusively in Japan. You can begin your journey as Agumon, Veemon, DORUmon, or Guilmon, and through completing quests for creatures known as "Digi-Elves," you can evolve into 12 additional Digimon, giving you a total of 16 playable partners. Battle foes, collect bits, and gear up your Digimon for combat.
Storyline
The Yamato Server vanishes following the X-Virus attack, replaced by the ominous Doom Server. It's up to you and up to three companions as the Digital Security Guard (D.S.G.) to enter the Doom Server, uncover the virus's origin, and eliminate the infection before it reaches the Home Server. Your journey begins in the Dry Lands, where you must halt the virus's spread, then moves to the Venom Jungle to prevent the Dread Note from launching, and finally to the Machine Pit to confront and defeat the ultimate boss. Completing the game for the first time unlocks Hard Mode, where enemies become more powerful, but you retain all your levels, gear, and digivolutions. Play through again, and you'll unlock the toughest challenge yet—Very Hard Mode.
