Mushu is assigned the important mission of delivering the enchanted scrolls that hold the tale of Mulan to the emperor of ancient China. He is warned not to let the scrolls fall, as their magic could escape if he does. But when Cri-Kee sneaks up behind him and scares him, Mushu drops the scrolls anyway. Now, he must recover the lost scrolls and restore the magic within them. The game functions like an interactive storybook, where the player helps advance the story by completing various tasks. These include fetching items for Grandma Fa, dressing Mulan and Mushu in a range of outfits with different hats, tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories, solving a mix-and-match puzzle to collect armor, and determining the correct sequence to strike gongs in order to awaken Mulan’s ancestors. Other activities include playing Mahjong and launching snowballs at enemy troops. The game also features a karaoke-style sing-along with three songs from the movie. Additionally, there’s an activity that allows players to arrange character and location cutouts from the game onto a page, which can then be colored using a paint set.
