Einhänder is a futuristic side-scrolling shooter that delivers stunning visuals, powerful techno soundtrack, and a 3D gameplay experience.
Einhänder is set in a fictional future during a conflict between the Earth colony Sodom and the Moon colony Selene. The "First Moon War" left most of Earth's surface in ruins and led to the rise of a dictatorial government on the planet. The game follows the "Second Moon War," in which Selene launches another assault on Earth to seize natural resources. Selene's strategy involves deploying single-pilot fighter spacecraft known as "Einhänder" on suicide missions to inflict maximum damage on Earth before their own destruction. The player assumes the role of one of these pilots, attacking the Earth's capital city. As the player advances, the Selenean military satellite Hyperion transmits commands and mission objectives. The onboard central computer, "EOS," processes these instructions. EOS also logs and sends the player's flight and combat data back to Hyperion. After completing the final mission, Hyperion announces that the battle pattern of the latest EOS unmanned fighter is complete. The player is then selected as the target for the final EOS test as a reward for their bravery. Upon their death, the player is promoted two ranks and receives the prestigious Sirius decoration. After enduring the relentless artillery assault of the test, the pilot begins to question why they are being sacrificed by their own side and challenges the reasoning behind their leaders' war.
