Elibean (originally Elibian) Nights is a fan-created "follow-up" to Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. The game explores the adventures of Blazing Sword's characters during the time between the conclusion of Blazing Sword and the start of its Japan-exclusive sequel, Fire Emblem: Binding Blade. It was initially inspired by the BSFE series, as well as Arch's personal interpretation of 1001 Arabian Nights (which explains the title). The narrative is structured around multiple "tales," each resembling a typical Fire Emblem chapter. The key distinction is that each tale is entirely self-contained. Characters from one tale do not carry over to the next, and while some tales are connected (for example, Tales 1, 2, and 3 set the stage for Tale 5), the stories themselves are separate. At the heart of the game is a central menu called "Tale Select," which also allows players to view Achievements, access Bonus Content, adjust difficulty settings, and, of course, select a tale to play or replay. All the traditional Fire Emblem elements remain. Each character has a personality and a background that influences their role in the story. While unit deaths are not permanent (if a character dies in a tale, they will return when the tale is replayed), the strategic decisions you make impact the direction of the narrative. The entire surviving playable roster from Blazing Sword (and some non-playable characters) appears, with a few cameos from Binding Blade and Immortal Sword characters. Elibean Nights includes 16 playable maps, 19 achievements, and a wealth of new story material. The final main chapter was finished in 2014, but work on additional bonus content continued until the project was ultimately discontinued in 2019.
