Gex 64: Enter the Gecko

Summary
Gex 64 was the Nintendo 64 adaptation of Gex: Enter the Gecko. This edition introduced a brand-new level that took the place of the secret stages. "Gecques Cousteau," set around the RMS Titanic, is played mostly underwater. The only parts of the level on land are at the Titanic's entrance, where the ship is ultimately destroyed by an iceberg. Additional adjustments included a reduction in bonus levels and quotes, as Nintendo 64 cartridges could hold considerably less data than CDs. Some of the sound effects were also slightly modified.
Storyline
After defeating Rez in the Media Dimension, Gex stepped away from the spotlight and embraced a life of seclusion. Two years later, his peaceful routine is shattered when he’s watching TV when the screen suddenly goes black and Rez’s face starts flashing. Two government agents burst in and take Gex to their base, where he’s questioned. They reveal that Rez has come back and they need Gex’s help to stop him once more. Gex declines, stating he’s already saved the world and that they should find someone else. When the agents offer a generous payment and high-tech gear, Gex agrees. He leaves the facility but is immediately approached by a female agent named Agent Xtra, who wishes him luck. As he travels through various TV channels in the Media Dimension, Gex eventually faces Rez again. The two engage in a fierce battle until Gex crushes Rez with a massive television, greatly weakening him. In a last-ditch effort, Rez appears on a screen and claims to be Gex’s father. Gex simply turns off the TV, leaving it unclear whether he believes Rez. In the final scene, Gex is seen sharing a hotel room with Nikki from the Pandemonium series.
