Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is a rhythm game and the fifth title in the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series of Vocaloid-based rhythm games. It marked the first time a Project Diva game was made available in the Western market. Similar to its predecessors, the game focuses on Vocaloids, a line of singing synthesizer software, and the music composed using these tools, with a strong emphasis on the virtual idol Hatsune Miku. The core gameplay remains consistent with earlier entries, though it introduces several new features. One of the most notable additions is the "Star" symbol, which joins the existing symbols like cross, circle, square, triangle, and arrows. The "Star" symbol is used for the "Scratch" action, where players either swipe the screen or flick the analog stick, depending on the platform. The "Chance Time" feature has also been updated, with each successful hit filling a star-shaped meter in the bottom left corner of the screen. Once filled, it activates a final scratch symbol, and if executed correctly, it alters the scene’s outcome. Another new element is the "Technical Zone" system. When activated during a track, players must keep their combo unbroken within the time limit to earn extra points.
