Hearthstone: The Grand Tournament

Summary

The Grand Tournament is Hearthstone's second expansion, released on August 24, 2015. It adds over 130 new cards and centers around Hero Power-themed abilities. The set also marks the debut of the first major new keyword since the game's launch—Inspire—which lets minions trigger unique effects whenever the player activates their Hero Power. Additionally, it introduces a new non-keyword mechanic called Joust.

Storyline

When the Lich King and his undead Scourge loomed over the world, the Argent Crusade summoned Azeroth’s greatest heroes to test their strength in a grand and glorious tournament. Knights from every race gathered in Northrend, striving for honor in thrilling clashes with terrifying beasts. Although the Lich King’s darkness has been defeated, the Grand Tournament lives on—just with a lighter, more lighthearted spirit than before. And why not keep the celebration going? Aspiring champions are arriving by the hundreds from across the world, eager to prove themselves and earn the pride of raising their banners in triumph! Who will rise as the champion of The Grand Tournament? You and your friends, naturally!
